Heathyr Huss

Heathyr is a wedding and portrait photographer with a natural, fun and relaxed style. She considers herself a contemporary photographer, and combines a mix of both posed and candid shots, and is able to make even the most camera-shy people feel at ease during a shoot. She has been in the industry for over 11 years, and in this short time has established herself as the preferred supplier with some of Cape Town’s top wedding venues and planners.

Heathyr’s ability to capture the emotion in a moment is her greatest talent. She has an honesty about her that enables her to establish rapport with others effortlessly.

Before Heathyr started her photography business she was a project manager in the creative industry. The skills she learned during the 10 years she spent in this field prepared her to deal with the unexpected, and have enabled her to stay calm during many a wedding day crisis. She’s also excellent at sticking to a timeline.

When she’s not writing about herself in the third person, Heathyr is a family girl at heart, she loves good wine and makes a mean hamburger, from scratch. She also spends an inordinate amount of time spelling her name for other people. Yes, that is “Heather” with a “Y” and yes, she does get that all the time.

She lives on the Southern Peninsula of Cape Town with her husband Simon and their daughter, Micayla.
